Info on Wilderness Survival Camp
a) For this weekend's Wilderness
Survival camp out, the Scouts will be meeting
at 6:30 AM on SATURDAY Feb 22 at the church. EAT YOUR BREAKFAST FIRST!
They will be heading out past Osteen,
FL to a private property off of Pell Rd and Osteen Maytown Rd.
(Maps below. I have attached
Mapquest detailed directions and maps, but I'm note sure which route the car
pools may take.)
b) Scouts should bring their survival cans, water in a canteen, and wear several layers of clothing (thermal underwear, t-shirt, sweat shirt w/ hood, pants, jacket, raincoat/poncho, hat, gloves...)

d) DIRECTIONS TO WILDERNESS SURVIVAL

1: From the church, start out going
Southeast on HOWELL BRANCH RD toward FL-426 E/ALOMA AVE. []0.29 miles
2: Turn LEFT onto FL-426 W/ALOMA AVE. Continue to follow FL-426 W. (1.42 miles)
3: Turn LEFT. (0.01 miles)
4: Take the SR-417-TOLL N ramp toward SANFORD. (0.45 miles)
5: Merge onto CENTRAL FLORIDA GREENEWAY/FL-417 N (Portions toll). (11.16 miles)
6: Take the E AIRPORT BLVD exit toward US-17-92/LAKE MARY. (0.67 miles)
7: Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp. (]0.04 miles)
8: Merge onto US-17 92 N/US-92 N. (0.74 miles)
9: Turn RIGHT onto W 25TH ST/FL-46. Continue to follow FL-46. (3.65 miles)
10: Turn LEFT onto FL-415.

11: Turn RIGHT onto Osteen Maytown Rd (?? miles)
12: Turn LEFT onto Pell Rd. Look for Maytown Fire Tower on right. Across from
fire tower is gate and driveway to property. (Tractor shed on property, metal
hay barn past fire tower.) The cars will be parking out in a field, the Scouts
will be hiking back to the camping area.
