Ocala National Forest Back
Historian's Notes
by Josh Thomas
The back packing trip in March was fun because we got to carry heavy packs! We met up Saturday morning at the church. When we got to Ocala National Forest, we unloaded and started the hike. The scout master and others got separated from the main group. Alex got us lost and had to go across the street for directions. When we got on the right trail, we had lunch. After lunch, we hiked another mile or so and stopped to boil water. Some people were successful boiling water, and some people weren’t. Some people took naps. After that we hiked some more until we found a clearing to camp in. In the morning, we finished our fun hike. (Everyone was sad it was over.) Then the adults provided us lunch. Then we cooled of at Alexander springs. Then we left and went home.
